Isa Vautier's new book available for pre-order! - Isa Vautierin uusi kirja tilattavissa ennakkoon!

Les coeurs d'Isa

Isabelle Haccourt-Vautier's new book will soon be here! This book will be published on September 21st. Les coeurs d'Isa contains 80 pages with no less than 70 beautiful heart designs. There will be many seasonal designs and animal designs, but also other wonderful designs.

The idea in Isabelle's calligraphy heart series is, that there is always a word or a short text designed to the heart, like the word "Hiver" (Winter) on a design on the cover of the book. This book is the first part, she is planning to publish another one too later.

You'll find the book at our site already, it's available for pre-order for our special pre-order price, without shipping costs! The Finnish VAT will be reduced as always, if you live outside the European Union. Please take a look at the product description for more details.

Isabelle Vautierin uusi kirja ilmestyy pian! Les coeurs d'Isa julkaistaan syyskuun 21. päivä. Kirja sisältää peräti 70 kaunista sydänmallia (80 sivua). Kirjassa on useita vuodenaikamalleja ja eläinmalleja, mutta myös paljon muuta kaunista pisteltävää.

Isan kalligrafiasydänsarjan idea on, että jokaiseen sydämeen on suunniteltu sana tai lyhyt teksti mukaan kokonaisuuteen, kuten esimerkiksi kannen yhdessä mallissa "Hiver" (Talvi). Tämä kirja on sarjan ensimmäinen osa, toinen osa ilmestyy joskus myöhemmin.

Yippee, the first part of our De fil en aiguille order arrived today! The beautiful special issue La Toile de Jouy is back in stock and notifications have been e-mailed. This is a wonderful issue, definitely one of my favourites.

JCS Halloween Issue - Just Cross Stitch Halloween -lehti

Just Cross Stitch Halloween Issue arrived today! I'm not much into Halloween, as it's not a traditional celebration in Finland, but there are many ornaments in this issue I want to stitch. My favourite is the pillow by La-D-Da, I think it might be my all time favourite Halloween design, I just love it! I've uploaded a photo of it below, as you can't see it on the cover.

We're unfortunately still waiting for the De fil en aiguille magazines from France, I have no idea where they are as they should have been here a long time ago... But I'll let you know as soon as they arrive!

It definitely will be autumn soon. This morning was cold, only +2C (35F) at the time of my morning walk! As it will be autumn, the Halloween issue is sold for a special price :) Have a happy week!

Just Cross Stitch Halloween -numero saapui tänään! Vaikka Halloween ei olekaan kovin suomalainen juhla, niin tässä on kyllä monta mallia jotka haluaisin pistellä. Sen lisäksi tästä lehdestä löytyy varmaankin kaikkien aikojen ihanin Halloween-malli minun mielestäni, La-D-Dan tyyny, joka on yksinkertaisuudessaan tosi viehättävä. Lisäsin kuvan siitä tuohon alle, koska sitä ei näy kannessa.

Valitettavasti De fil en aiguille -lehdet ovat edelleen jossain Ranskan ja Suomen välillä, vaikka niiden olisi pitänyt saapua iät ajat sitten... Kirjoittelen täällä heti kunhan saapuvat!

Ihan kohta on syksy! Tämä aamu oli jo melkoisen viileä, +2 astetta näytti mittari aamulenkin aikaan. Sen kunniaksi Halloween-lehti on myynnissä erikoishintaan :) Ihanaa viikkoa!

Here are photos of some of the newest additions to our site. From Couleur d'Etoile we have received lovely new charts and also new thread colours from Atalie. SANQ Fall 2009 issue arrived too, it's full of lovely projects again!

We are finally waiting for the package from De fil en aiguille to arrive. It should be here any day now! Unfortunately, for reasons not depending on us, it has taken a while to receive for example the special issue La toile de Jouy back in stock. But there is a huge package arriving from France and then we'll also have the currect special issue for sale.

The weather is wonderful in Finland at the moment, it has been very summerlike for many days now. Children will go back to school next Wednesday, so it's nice to have couple of lovely, sunny summer days before that :)

Tässäpä muutama kuva uusimmista tuotteistamme. Couleur d'Etoilelta saimme kauniita malleja ja myös Atalielta tuli lankapaketti. SANQ:n syksyn 2009 numero saapui taas täynnä ihania malleja ja artikkeleita.

Vihdoin viimein iso tilaus De fil en aiguille -lehtiä on matkalla meille, lehtien pitäisi olla perillä alkuviikosta! Valitettavasti meistä riippumattomista syistä olemme joutuneet odottamaan esimerkiksi erikoisnumeroa La toile de Jouy. Myös uusimman erikoisnumeron saamme samassa paketissa.

Sää ainakin täällä Oulun seudulla on ollut tosi kesäinen jo pitkän aikaa. Lapsilla alkaa koulu keskiviikkona, mukava kun nämä viimeiset lomapäivät ovat aurinkoisia ja lämpöisiä :)

Stitching from Isa Vautier's book - Keskeneräistä pistelyä Isa Vautierin kirjasta

This is something I'm stitching at the moment - a heart shaped Christmas ornament from Isa Vautier's book Un petit fil rouge m'a dit... I'm stitching it on 25 count Floba fabric over one fabric thread, with DMC 815. In my opinion this Floba is perfect, rustic fabric for Christmas ornaments!

Only 5 months to go and then it will be Christmas time again :)

Pistelen muun muassa tällaista tällä hetkellä - sydämenmuotoista joulukoristetta Isa Vautierin kirjasta Un petit fil rouge m'a dit... Kangas on 25 count Floba ja lanka DMC:n joulunpunainen 815. Floba on mielestäni täydellisen näköinen ja tuntuinen kangas joulukoristeisiin, teen tätä yhden kankaan langan yli.

Jouluun on enää viisi kuukautta :)

This book is not visible at Violarium, but I have couple of them in stock. It is a truly wonderful book, full of beautiful, different alphabets from Valerie Lejeune's collection. She writes in the introduction of this book that it contains letters only created before year 1930. She continues: "This book constitutes ... the broader collection of ancient cross stitch embroidery letters ever made available for embroiderers from all over the world."

In the book you'll find 745 alphabets and 99 series of numbers, all arranged according to their size. This is the first part and contains letters from 1 stitch to 55 stitch high. The second part will be published next spring and it will contain bigger letters from 56 stitches high.

The price of the book is 44 euros, please note that the Finnish VAT will be reduced if your shipping address is outside European Union. The book is quite heavy and almost 5 cm (2 inches) thick and actual postage will be added.
