De fil en aiguille

We received a package with De fil en aiguille magazines today, couple of packages are still on their way of the same order from France. But I added some older issues to our site, we haven't had these in stock before. Take a look at the new products and you'll find all the issues added! Tänään tuli paketti Ranskasta täynnä De fil en aiguille -lehtiä, pari saman tilauksen pakettia on vielä matkalla. Lisäsin muutamia vanhoja numeroita kaupan sivuille tänään, näitä meillä ei ole ollut varastossa aiemmin. Kurkkaa uudet tuotteet ja näet kaikki tämän päivän lisäykset! Le style anglais -lehteä tuli myös lisää varastoon!

Isa Vautier: Le Temps nous égare

Happy Monday! During the weekend I finished stitching Isa Vautier's Le Temps nous égare. It was wonderful to stitch this and I think it turned out beautiful :) It's stitched on 28 count Graziano Riviera linen fabric, with DMC 815 and Pomme de Pin Séduction, with two strands over two fabric threads.

The poem in the design is written by Jacques Prèvert, I don't know if this poem has been translated into English. The poem is also a play on words, as the first and third sentence are pronounced in the same way and so are the second and fourth sentence.

Isa Vautier writes about this poem beautifully in her blog and I will try to explain the idea, as I'm not able to translate the poem exactly:

Le temps nous égare - Time misleads, deludes us, it moves ahead with big steps on the clock of life

Le temps nous étreint - Time embraces us, this precious time when seconds gallop so quickly

Le temps nous est gare - Time is a station for us, it shelters our memories

Le temps nous est train - Time is a train for us, as it moves ahead with great speed

Mukavaa maanantaita! Viikonlopun aikana sain valmiiksi Isa Vautierin Le Temps nous égare -mallin. Tätä oli ihana pistellä ja se on kaunis malli! Työ on tehty Grazianon 28 count Riviera pellavalle, DMC: langalla numero 815 ja Pomme de Pinin langalla Séduction, kahdella säikeellä kahden kankaan langan yli.

Runon on kirjoittanut Jacques Prèvert, enkä tiedä onko sitä käännetty suomeksi. Runo on myös sanaleikki, sillä sen ensimmäinen ja kolmas lause lausutaan ranskaksi samalla tavalla, samoin kuin toinen ja neljäs lause.

Isa Vautier kirjoittaa tästä runosta kauniisti blogissaan ja yritän kääntää runon ideaa:

New designs from Isa Vautier - Isa Vautierin uusia malleja

Two beautiful designs have arrived from Isa Vautier today! I love these both :) The pink bunny is such a cute design. In the other one there's a text "Amour donne des ailes" which means "Love gives wings". Isn't it a beauty?!

We've been enjoying a very cold winter weather here in Finland for the last couple of days. Today -18C (0F), so it really feels like winter :) But it should gradually get a bit warmer and maybe next week we'll get more snow. Have a very happy weekend and happy stitching!

Kaksi ihanaa uutuutta Isa Vautierilta saapui tänään, tykkään molemmista kovasti! Vaaleanpunainen pupu on tosi suloinen, jotenkin niin ihanan hellyttävä. Toisessa mallissa on teksti "Amour donne des ailes" mikä tarkoittaa suomeksi "Rakkaus antaa siivet". Upea malli, eikö totta?!

Täällä pohjoisessa on ollut pakkasta parin päivän ajan ihan reippaasti, tänään -18 astetta, eli ihan oikea talvisää. Vähitellen pitäisi kai lämmetä ja jospa ensi viikolla saisimme luntakin lisää. Ihanaa viikonloppua kaikille ja pistelyniloa!

New linen and aida bands - Uusia pellava- ja aidanauhoja

More linen and aida bands have been added to our site today! There are couple of linen bandings from Vaupel and also lovely French aida bands. The one above is a linen/aida mix, 5 cm (2") wide, I think it's beautiful!

I just couldn't resist the cute decorative band from Vaupel either, the sheep are so pretty :) The sheep are woven into the fabric, not printed, so it makes the band extra special.

Lisää aida- ja pellavanauhoja on lisätty Violariumin sivuille tänään! Uusia tuotteita ovat mm. pari pellavanauhaa Vaupelilta sekä kauniit ranskalaiset aidanauhat. Yläpuolella oleva aidanauha on pellava/puuvillasekoitetta, leveys 5 cm, tosi ihana pellavan tuntuinen nauha!

Enkä voinut vastustaa tuota lammasnauhaa :) Lampaat on kudottu kankaaseen, ei siis painettu, se tekee nauhasta vieläkin kauniimman.

New Atalie thread colours have arrived! Also almost all the colours we normally carry are now back in stock. The colours are listed alphabetically at our site, so you'll find all the new colours if you take a look at New products.

These beautiful colours above are Sauge (Salvia), Azur (Azure) and Cedre (Cedar).

Lisäsimme Atalien muliinilankavärejä varastoon! Myös melkein kaikkia normaalisti varastossamme olevia värejä on nyt saatavana. Värit löytyvät sivuiltamme aakkosjärjestyksessä, niinpä uudet värit löydät helpoiten kurkkaamalla Uudet tuotteet.

I've added new linen bandings from Vaupel to Violarium's site. I really fell in love with the checked one, I've stitched already two small pouches on this. For the striped ones I was thinking of stitching something Christmassy maybe :)

New products from Isa Vautier and Couleur d'Etoile - Uusia tuotteita Isa Vautierilta ja Couleur d'Etoilelta

I've added many new charts at our site from Couleur d'Etoile and Isa Vautier today. The alphabet series by Couleur d'Etoile is now complete and there are also couple of lovely new heart designs for example.

Isa Vautier has published again beautiful samplers! She's going to have a baby soon, so she has been inspired to design many pretty charts for children. Take a look at all new products, so you can admire them all :)

Lisäsin tänään Violariumin sivuille monta uutta mallia Couleur d'Etoilelta ja Isa Vautierilta. Couleur d'Etoilen aakkossarja on nyt valmis kokonaisuudessaan ja kaikki kirjaimet ovat saatavilla. Otimme myyntiin myös muun muassa pari kaunista sydänmallia.

A beautiful lacy issue of De fil en aiguille - Kaunis pitsimäinen lehti

The first issue of the new year of De fil en aiguille magazine has arrived! There are beautiful ring pillows for a wedding, these designs can be easily finished into something else too, I especially like a heart motif, it could be finished as a heart shaped ornament.

There are also lots of lacy designs in this magazine, for example a lovely key design, an umbrella and big, lacy letters. I've uploaded extra photos under the product description so that you can take a look! It's a beautiful issue!

Uuden vuoden ensimmäinen De fil en aiguille -lehti on saapunut! Tässä lehdessä on muutama kaunis sormustyynymalli häitä varten, näitä kuvioita voi käyttää muuhunkin. Eniten tykkäsin sydänkuviosta josta tulisi kaunis sydämenmuotoinen koriste.

Lehdessä on myös paljon pitsisiä malleja, esimerkiksi avain, sateenvarjo ja isot pitsimäiset kirjaimet. Lisäsin pari kuvaa sisällöstä tuotekuvauksen alle. Kaunis lehti!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas time and a good start for the new year. I've started working today after the Christmas holiday. All orders placed during our Christmas holiday will be processed today and tomorrow.
